Description
With a foundation in homebrewing in 1992, Paul Kavulak set about to experiment within a hobby that would prove both entertaining and, at times, refreshing. Over a period of roughly 13 years, and with the able assistance of his wife Kim, this activity led to the opening of the Nebraska Brewing Company’s brewpub in Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska, on November 17, 2007. A new production brewery and taproom were opened in January of 2014. Located on the south side of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.

750mL bottle, sent from tstockstrom (thanks a lot, Chuck), pours a cloudy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is quite funky, with quite a bit of white wine barrels, some funky notes, and subdued hops. Flavour is quite complex, with lots of vinous notes - loads of chardonnay barrels notes, lots of funk, not much hops left, lots of dry oakness, some mild peaches and grapefruit zest. Very complex and dominated by the white wine barrels. High drinkability, despite the intense white wine and lively carbonation. Excellent stuff.

Bottled. A hazy red beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, malt, fruits, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, brettanomyces, wood, and cherries, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a hazy amber with a small, rough off-white head. Very fresh, tart cherry notes with sweet oaky edges. Medium body, tart cherry accents and again sweet oak. Like a very good Kriek. Really delicious. 221112

Grabbed from Top Hops after dinner. I’ve been ton the top of Nebraska but never had any of her brews which has bugged me for a few years so I finally bit the bullet and grabbed this over priced bomber. Pours a very dirty gold with nice white head. Nose of white grapes, box wine, and herbal. The first sip was sour and not great but once you let it breath I thought quite a good brew. You get the chradonnay a plenty, grassy, citrus, yeast, vanilla, earth, herbal, woody, and light medicinal finish. Tingly on the tongue and I was happy for large bottle as each glass I enjoyed more.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with a large foamy white head that slowly dissispates with decent lacing. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and malty with notes of white grape and orange peel. Flavor is about the same, quite sweet with some citric astringency. Not bad at all. ABV is well hidden throughout.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of foppa78. Pours a deep black appearance with a nice, thick brown head. Rich dark chocolate, dark caramel, burnt woody, a bit charred, light candy aroma. A little boozy, dark grape, whiskey, somewhat boozy, dark chocolate, a touch tart fruity, roasty flavor. Pretty tasty but not elite.
