Description
The Obergärige Hausbrauerei Uerige (top-fermented craft brewery) is not a museum, but an exceedingly modern food business where a craft rich in centuries of tradition is carried out. It goes without saying that the Reinheitsgebot, or Purity Law dating from 1516, is still adhered to, because its results are good and lasting, relying, as it does, on nature as one of its main factors. Which is exactly what we do, too: our yummy droplet is made of nothing but water, barley, wheat malt, and our Uerige yeast.

Dark brown colour. Barley wine -like aroma has sweet malt and fruits. Flavour has alcohol and sweet malt, feels a bit like American ales. Good and somewhat unique!

Brown-orange colour, murky. Aroma has solvent, some berries typical to Danish ales and some pineapple-like fruit. Flavour is sweetish with malt and Danish berries. The berries and solvent do disturb a bit, but this is still somewhat interesting.

Yellow-orange colour and murky. Flavour has some peach, something rye bread -like and some vomit. Flavour has wet cardboard, some wheat and hints of peach. One of the worst wheat ales I’ve had.

Draught, 8.5%. Fat, creamy aroma with a hint of vanilla. Oxidised. Very dark brown colour, seems cloudy. Small creamy light brown head. The flavour is extremely creamy with some vanilla. Silky mouthfeel. Nasal vinous notes. Quite sweet, vanilla malt syrup finish. Atypical German beer.
