Description

Hazy golden color. Very clean malty nose with moderate hoppiness. Decent malty backbone, but hop character isn’t so prevelant. Decent rounded beer, but not uber interesting.

Bottle, Domus Birrae, Roma. Shared with Slothez, Superbowl Session. Deep dark brown pour with a lingering tan head. Fragrant hoppy nose with some roasted malt notes. Flavour offered citrus, piney hop, chocolate, coffee and malt. Decent bitterness to close with. Solid, tasty Black IPA.

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Murky amber beer, not much of a head. Nose of sourish orange fruits. Palate is light and semi dry. Tangy malts with sweet and sour fruits. Definite winey tang. Over ripe orange. Touch of oxidised caramel. Smooth semi dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours murky brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, juicy, plum, prune, varnish, cassis, jammy and candy sugar. Bottle shared in London - picked up in Rome. Vintage 2011. Pours unclear, amber-gold with a bubbly, off-white head. The nose has tangy, oxidized fruits, light toffee, apricot, orange, hints of balsamic vinegar. Medium sweet flavor with lots of woody dryness, some leather, pale berries, white grape, mild alcohol, hay. Full bodied with fine carbonation and lightly oily texture. Lightly warming finish, vinous, some salt and vinegar, tangy fruits, sweat. Solid. Quite dynamic. Pretty impressive.
