Description

Bottle in my hotel room, Trastevere, from Johnny’s II - 10/02/14. Hazed orange with a moderate off white head that stays for the show. Nose is light citrics, peach, toasty malt, grassy, bitter orange, faint soap. Taste comprises orange pith, light hop bill, straw, earthy pangs, hint more of that soapyness. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so, not true to style, more veering towards an APA with the hop presence, the soap also lets it down a little but doesn’t make it a chore to drink,.

Draft @ ML Fontainas. Note fleuri également présente.

Sampled at Ma Che in Rome (from the bottle I think?). Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit and tangerine along with doughy pale malts and light pee. Light to medium sweet flavor, moderately dry, with nice dried citrus, urine, faint onion, tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Clean finish with further dried out citrus, mild pith and rind, faint grass, more tangerine. Lovely.

Bottle, Roma
Hazy yellow color, firm medium-sized off-white head. Wheaty, not vwey sweet aroma. Light-bodied. Refreshing, light banana, some citric notes. Decent, but as always 4.5% is too little for a good weizen/witbier.

Bottle from Birra ed Oltre, Napoli
Slightly hazy yellow color, small steady white head. Sweet fruity pineapple aroma. Medium-bodied. Fruity, grassy nettles. Maybe Sorachi Ace used? Basicly nothing wrong with this.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Mortlach for this bottle! 2011 bottle. Hazy yellow. Great funky barnyard aroma with a bit of vinegar notes, oak, sweaty notes and fruitiness. Sour flavor, somewhat lemony, with nice funk, fruitiness and a mild honey-ish sweetness in the back. Medium-bodied. Very pleasant.

33cl bottle @ Beer for Bunnies, Bologna. BB 02/2014.
