Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Richmond Brewers’ Fair. Pours clear gold, highly effervescent, with a billowing and lasting fluffy, virginal white head. Crispy pale malts in the nose, with touches of hay and citrus peel. Light sweet flavour with moderate husky bitterness, some biscuits, white bread, lemon rind, a little citrus pith, straw. Light bodied with active carbonation. Crisp and pretty clean on the finish, with a nice load-bearing pale malt base, more citrus rind, some grassy bitterness, melon, tangerine. This beer really grew on me as I drank it.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Richmond Brewers’ Fair. Pours clear, rich brown with a creamy, beige head. Fairly simple on the nose, with moderate roasted malts, hints of dusty earth and milk chocolate. Light-medium sweet flavor with smooth chocolatey malt character, some toasted biscuits, subtle earthy bitterness, accents of prune and raisin. Light bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Nicely balanced on the finish, with easygoing cocoa further earth, toasted toffee, hints of dried berries. A straightforward low-ABV porter that drinks very easily. Nice one.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours cloud deep orange with a decent white head. The nose is fresh, musty, earthy, farmyard, wood, light spice, cereal and candied peel. The taste is bitter, earthy, spicy, pine, orange peel, waxy peel, some alcohol peel, wood and leather with a dry, orange peel with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Lorna. It pours deep mahogany brown with a tiny light tan head. The nose is bitter - sweet, toasted brown sugar, festive spice, allspice, ginger, clove, dark fruits, fruit cake and toast. The taste is bitter, drying, toasty, pretty spicy, clove in particular, decent astringency, dry wood, fruit cake with a pretty dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. The aroma is pretty nice, but it is just too dry and astringent.
