Thick yellowish cream head, utterly stable thanks to lively carbonated dark brown beer. End of bottle UFO-laden. Saffron obvious whilst pouring. Nutty, firewood, roast, sweetish smelling. Laurel and banananpeel. Sourish rather in taste, faintly smoky as from tobacco. Woodburn, roast. The saffron is there, if very subdued. Yeast, and I fear infection here indeed. Dry; warming up gets soupy. Medium bodied, probably a very light acidthinning. Lively carbonated, slick. Though this one remains acceptable, that's three out of four Danny beers that prove infected. Draw your own conclusions. I'm getting a Steedje déjà-vu. Txs to Stef!

Cloudy beige blond beer, small creamy off-white head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: some tropical fruits, malty, some citrus, grains, yeast, some banana, smoky touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sourish up front, fruity touch, funky, a little infected, a bit dirty. Aftertaste: more fruity notes, a bitter touch, more infection, this is not good, chemical bitterness, pretty dirty, malty and yeasty notes, pretty oxidized, a bit sweet, infected and not good!

Kerstbier Festival. Clear deep golden beer with a white lacing. Aroma of riped fruits, caramel, belgian yeast. Taste of ripe fruits, apples, brett, belgian yeast.

Bottled@Alex Tasting. Slightly hazy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, spicy and some mild floral and mild yeasty tones. Flavour is toffee, some floral tones with mild fruits and yeasty spiciness to it.

Bottle as a Christmas present from Elke - many thanks! Hazy dark amber-brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of dried apple, banana, rainwater, clove, coriander, liquorice, caramel, toast, mocha. Taste has sweetish fig, apple & banana, sourish coriander along herbal & spicy notes (liquorice, clove) over a toasty malt base. Herbal hoppy finish, bit metallic, quite dry, lingering liquorice & dried fruit. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Recommended, not-too-sweet Dubbel (or Dark Ale for that matter).

33cl bottle. A clear orange brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark brown malt, red fruits, raisins. Taste of dark reddish brown malt, some red fruits, caramel, raisins.

@ De Pastorie, Burst. Hazy blond colour, white foam. Rather dry and watery, light malty sweetness.

Bottle from a gift - thanks, Anke! Hazy brown, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of unripe red apple, sour plum, raisin, caramel, clove, blackberry, pepper, toast, biscuit, infected feel. Taste has sweet-sour red apple, plum & pear against a bready malty backbone, hinting at wheat too, bit soapy with a spicy coriander effect. Herbal hoppy finish, soapy spices again, sour, bit spoiled fruit. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Could have been a Dubbel with a twist of 'Oud Bruin' but I don't think it was intended? Feels too infected to be enjoyable.
