Clear ruby red with fast disappearing tan head. Raisin and fruit cake nose. Rum and raisin, cherry, some fresh cut wood. Tart cherry notes on first sip, with strong wood notes. Boozy, some malts peeping through. Well balanced. A keeper

0.33 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Roermond), best before October 2028. Almost clear, deep ruby with a thin, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, quite fruity and a little funky aroma of lemon, rhubarb, balsamic vinegar and sour cherry. Slightly sweet, quite sour, quite fruity and a bit vinous taste of lemon, rhubarb, balsamic vinegar, sour cherry, oak, some caramel and hints of sherry, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, moderately dry finish. Medium to full body, quite astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Much sharper than I remembered, really refreshing but also complex beer.
08.10.2014: Clear ruby colour with a thick tan head. Aroma of red wine vinegar, sour cherries, redcurrant and raspberries. At first, taste is slightly sweet but that is quickly replaced by heavy sourness. Thin body, soft carbonation and a dry, tart finish. The fruity aroma and the acidity make it just adorable. Michael Jackson called it "the most refreshing beer in the world". Well, he must have known!

0.75 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', best before June 2028. Hazy, deep reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, quite fruity, slightly artificial and minimally vinous aroma of mango, sherbet powder, raspberry, traces of balsamic vinegar and hints of oak. Slightly sweetish, rather sour, fairly fruity, a bit artificial and minimally vinous taste of lots of lemon, rhubarb, mango, raspberry, a touch of balsamic vinegar, hints of oak and traces of sherbet powder, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, a bit woody-dry finish. Medium body, rather astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Smells like one of those excessively sweetened sours, but it tastes totally different, very much on the citric side, resembling a fruited kettle sour. Not nearly as good as Rodenbach's classic offerings, yet still far from being mainstream, just much different.

Nice ruby red, clear with a very slight head. Aromas of cherry jam, cola, fruit cake, oak. Tart on tasting. With the sour cherries on the roof of the mouth. Nice lingering tartness. Not as sour as a "full" sour beer. More like a sweet and sour. Nicely layered and well rounded. Very good!

75cl bottle on Christmas Day 2025. Pours a dark cola brown, thin sparse off-white patch atop. Soothing acetic sweetness, not especially sour with a mild balsamic side, seemingly smoother with age.. mild oud bruin tang, umami undercurrent, excellent rounded sipper for watching Love Actually which I actually have never watched (and won't ever again).
