0.75l bottle. Hazy golden hody with a hufe white head. Sweet malty base with notes of honey, sugar syrup and bread that is overpowered by the floral and spicy hops. Complex and round tripel. One of the bests from the style I have met with.

Bottle. One of the better Belgian strongs on the market. A lovely golden colour, quite smooth on the palate compared to others. Taste is subtle and sweet without going too far. Really nice. (10/9/17) -------- Bottle. 3.7 to 3.6. I would agree with the rating above. This is a nice lighter feeling belgian strong. (9/8/20). --- Bottle, no doubt from Belgium. Decent if not a tad lagery in aroma. Golden colour. Taste is interesting, you can tell its a trappist blond but it is much lighter and lager like than the others. A fresher version of many other trappist blonds. Love hte ending actually. Keep at 3.6.

330ml bottle @ Merckx, Bridgnorth. Surprised I've not rated this before. Pours a deep hazy brown, small pale tan head. Aroma is pleasantly sweet, ripened dark fruits. Taste presents a smooth, moderately sweet dubbel, just enough spice, just enough ripened fruits, nicely balanced. Voila.

Voici une triple trappiste qui sait tenir son rang. Sans être au sommet des bières d'abbaye, elle fait tout de même honneur à son pedigree. Sa principale caractéristique : son caractère avec un alcool plus marqué que ses 8 % Abv et des épices (coriandre) bien présentes. Tout cela sur un bon équilibre qui plus est. Ceci étant dit, les arômes plutôt simples et usuels. Il lui manque le petit plus qui la rendrait plus spécifique. En verre, rien à redire, blond doré parfaitement limpide (EBC aux alentours de 19) surmonté d'une mousse blanche de 5 mm d'épaisseur. Le nez est typique d'une triple : céréales, citron, coriandre avec un alcool marquant bien sa présence. L'attaque est sur un bon équilibre, entre fraîcheur et puissance. On y retrouve les arômes du nez. La seconde bouche voit l'amertume baisser d'un niveau (pour ne plus remonter) au profit de l'alcool et de la coriandre. L'arrière bouche reprend globalement l'attaque, encore sur la fraîcheur. La troisième bouche est alors intéressante, avec des arômes tout en tension, entre agrumes, alcool et coriandre avant que ceux-ci se libèrent pour un final long, tout en puissance où l'alcool et la coriandre dominent nettement. Le résultat est digne de la tradition brassicole belge.

Bottle 0.75l. Cloudy, copper colored. AROMA- forest berries syrup, sour cherries, honey, alcohol. FLAVOR- quite sweet, light alcohol presence, forest berries, caramel, honey, sour cherries, black currant. Fuller bodied.

Bottle from Belgoklubben. Pours red brown with a short lasting tan head. Aroma of dark fruits. Taste of plums, raisins, licorice and cacao. Balanced.

Bottle sample @ De Prins, Rhenoy tasting with Sussanne and Gijs. Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Caramel malt aroma with lots of dark fruits and some port. Very sweet taste with some faint hops. Cloyingly thick and sweet finish. Although very sweet still a great multi-layered mature quadrupel.

A beautiful, intense, trasparent orange that gets a bit hazy on second pour. At most two fingers of white head, good enough retention and almost no lacing. Aroma is mainly candied fruit notes, with honey sweetness, flowery notes and the slightest spiciness. Taste follows the aroma closely, with malt sweetness (honey) and sugary hints, flowery notes, candied fruit and a bit of spiciness. Overall very sweet but not at all over the top, with a not at all disturbing bit of warming alcohol presence. Medium bodied with quite high carbonation, maybe a bit too burpy. Overall an enjoyable belgian strong, it just didn't impress me in any way. Kind of 'just' averagely good.
