Can from the source. Dark yellow in color with a touch of hazy and a huge bubbly white head that slowly dissipates. I was hoping for an intense red color like in the raspberry. Lemony tart with hints of cherry aroma and flavor. Pretty easy to drink but kind of one dimensional.

Can. Good amount of purée with a light underlying sourness through the sip. A little more tart rather than sour. (Which is a plus for me). Has a refreshing character about it. I finished the entire can.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots, orange peel, crisp-bread, caramel, a touch of resin and some honey. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, orange peel, apricot marmalade, pink grapefruit, crisp-bread, caramel, resin and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made, with generous amounts of fresh hops, well balanced by a chewy malt profile. Quite hoppy, but never aggressive. Very nice.

Taster pour at the brewery. Appearance is cloudy, light brown/dark orange, with some funky white yeast floaties (barman poured the bottom of one bottle and top of another to finish the pour so may explain). Light sparkle at the edges of the glass, thin ring of off-white head. Aroma is strong, rich pumpernickel bread, molasses--very appealing smelling--can almost smell the caraway seeds. Taste is pumpernickel/rye--not quite as strong as the aroma--with mildly tart fruit (this added wrinkle diminishes it slightly as the straight pumpernickel is so good) serving as a foil. Palate is medium bodied with thick, smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste with not really a spicy quality but a semblance of caraway seed. Overall, pretty straightforward but what it is is really strong and exceptionally delicious.
