33cl bottle thanks to BenH. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn crema head. Nose - roast malt and burnt raisins. Dark chocolate edge. Taste - chocolate and sultanas with a spicy note lurking in the background. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a nice balanced finish. Overall - expected to get a bit more fruit but it’s still tasty.

Bottle courtesy of Vraig, cheers Craig. Had this in bottle at Bakewell Folk Festival, Derbyshire Saturday 16th August 2014 Pours black, a little coffee on the nose. Not as sweet as name suggests in fact the name is misleading (but only to me I guess). This is thick in mouth, a very solid and enjoyable Impy Stout, warming, but not too alcoholic, a pleasant smooth roastiness. It’s good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6

Bottle. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, strong liquorice, medium sweet and quite bitter.

Lightly hazy gold - amber beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is light, dry and a little crisp from fine carbonation. Light dry malts, mild caramel. Hops are light citrus with bitter floralness and a trace of lime. Dry finish with a minty hop linger. Not bad but the malt a bit sweet and forward.

Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is semi dry and minerally crisp. Thin malts with an odd stewed tea like taste. Sweetish floralness followed by a good dose of bitterness in the dry finish. Thoroughly odd and not very palatable.

Bottle from Ninas. It pours clear golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is soft orange, sherbet, brioche, candied peel and parma violets. The taste is bitter, orange peel, orange sherbet, straw, dough, toasty grass and light biscuit with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice orange sherbet stuff going.

Cask at Bow Bar. It pours Orange-amber with a decent white head. The nose is orange sponge cake, toasted grain, light spice, citrus, floral and marmalade. The taste is crisp, bitter, orange peel, muffin, grassy, herbal with a dry, somewhat spicy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting and rather enjoyable stuff.

Bottle from Free Beer Week, biggest thanks possible to BenH. Brownish orange, very hazy. An aesthetically pleasing off-white head. Aroma: split pea soup, with heavy woodsmoke and soy.Taste is a light smoky bitter with a ratatouille-led aftertaste. Mouthfeel is too watery for me, but this is tempered by the carbonation. Verdict: an experimental beer that gets pretty much everything spot on.

Cask @ Cloisters, 26 Brougham St, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 9JH. [ As Elixir Sugar Lumps: The Revenge ].Clear dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy earthy - bonfire, chili fruit sweet, wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chili warm, smokey, bonfire. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20140316]
