Description
Tigertops Brewery started in June 1995 by Stuart and Lynda Johnson (now of the Foxfield Brewery in Cumbria). Nowadays, brewing is under the control of Barry Smith known to many as "Axeman".

Barry enjoys experimenting with continental recipes and continental yeasts.It is based behind a private house at Oakes Street in Flanshaw near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, , and whilst perhaps not being as well known as some other micro breweries in the area, has produced a number of award winning beers appreciated by those who have tried them.

Leeds Beer Festival 2017. Black in colour. There’s vanilla in both aroma and taste, with some chocolate too.

Cask @ New Oxford, Salford. Dark clear red with a small smooth head. It’s a smoothish tasting rye bitter.

Cask @ New Oxford, Salford. Clear golden with a very thin head. Bittered pale ale with most of its dryness and fruitiness in its aftertaste.

Cask (handpump) @ Harlequin, 108 Nursery Street, Sheffield - Kelham Island, South Yorkshire, England S3 8GG. [ As Tigertops Alpha Hop ].Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nuutty, moderate hoppy, orange, zest, wood - grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration, wood - grapefruit zest bitter, sweet malt, sweet malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150216] 7-3-7-3-14

Sampled from cask at Meibockfestival Amsterdam 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a frothy, white head. Fruity-grassy, slightly herbal aroma of grapefruit, lemon and some grass. Slightly bitter, grassy-fruity taste of lemon, grapefruit and grass, followed by a short, moderately dry-bitter, grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Sampled from cask at Meibockfestival Amsterdam 2016. Slightly hazy, golden yellow with a frothy, white head. Sweetish, fruity and slightly floral aroma of mango, ginger, pineapple and some grass. Sweetish, fruity and slightly floral taste of honey, mango, ginger, straw and pineapple, followed by a medium long, moderately dry-bitter, grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Sampled from cask at Meibockfestival Amsterdam 2016. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, tan to white head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny, grassy aroma of mango, orange jam, some caramel, grass and pine. Slightly bitter, fruity-resiny taste of mango, orange jam, some caramel and pine, followed by a short, grassy-dry, moderately bitter and slightly resiny finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Smells better than it tastes.

Wakefield Beer Festival 2015. Blonde coloured ale. Light and easy-drinking, and the rhubarb is very light too. Malty nose.
