Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A very dark brown beer with a red shine under a thin rim of beige head. The aroma has notes of both sweet and roasted malt as well as light notes of vegetables. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of vegetables, and burnt caramel, leading to a dry and lightly roasted finish. The body is light. I had hoped for more.

Cask @ Wenlock Arms, Hoxton, London N1. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty fruity hoppy citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.

Cask @ The New Oxford, Salford, Manchester M3. Pours a dark brown color wit a small off-white head. Roasted malty caramel aroma with some bready hints and hints of licorice. Roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Cask (handpump) @ Harlequin, 108 Nursery Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S3 8GG.Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, fruity, toasted, malt sweet, moderate hoppy, alcohol. Flavor is light heavy candy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090416]

Cask at Reading beerfest. A golden coloured ale with a slight head. Strange musty smelling beer. Plenty of hops but also a bittersweet taste. A really unique tasting beer, it was quite good but I won’t seek it out again. This one seems like an experiment that has not really worked.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 09. Very hazy gold, thin disappeaaring head. When first poured it smelled of urine, which settles down to blue cheese. Now the blue cheese does run through it to its detriment. Inhibits the hop aroma coming through. Yes it’s hoppy, but more acidic on tongue hoppy than flavoursome/bitter hoppy. Copared t the Jaipur I had beofre it, not in the same league. Interesting though.

Aroma is moderate malty, meat, smoke, burnt rubber - plastic. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Cask at Bricklayers Arms Yorskhire Festival 09. Decent dark ale. Bit of liquorice. OK, like ruby stone fruit flavours, at least that’s what the notes say.
