The Innis & Gunn Brewery in Perth is our home for innovation and barrel-ageing. With plans to build a new large scale brewery in our hometown of Edinburgh, it will be the first new large brewery to be built in the capital in 150 years.

Typical buttery, nutty, sweet bready innis aroma. Some wood, and vanilla, and lots of butter. The oloroso doesnt seem to add much other than making the finish sweeter than usual. Meh.

Bottle from the lcbo. Clear amber pour, small beige head. Faint butter aroma, light oak, some vanilla and caramel malts. Light hints of toffee in the finish, some solid bread malts. Light hops, and more wood, with the typical butter innis finish. Not bad.

Deep red, medium pink head. Really nice juicy berry aroma. There is soe tartness, but its also quite sweet. The flavor is like juice, the base beer is a little tough to pick out. Not bad though, i can actually tell its raspberry and not some random flavor.

Quite sweet, like a strawberry cream soda. Cant pick out the base beer, but i can really taste the strawberry juice. Very sweet aftertaste, takes away from the strawberry. No tartness to speak of, just boozy juice.

Dark copper pour, very small white head. Aromas of sweet candied ginger, very reminiscent of Canada Dry with more depth, and earthiness to the ginger. Sweet finish, very earthy ginger aftertaste. Quite refreshing, i enjoyed it. A nice summer beer.

Stop using clear bottles! Huge skunk aroma right off the bat, that eventually goes away after about 10 minutes. Buttery, sweet caramel malt aroma. Light hops, but its pretty unremarkable. The finish is again, sweet and buttery, typical for this brewery. This was pretty much on par with their regular oak aged offering, with a touch more grassy hops.

Dark clear ruby pour, small white head.
Really nice caramel, toffee, vanilla malt aroma. The hops are quite present and add a nice zesty hoppiness in the flavour. The finishis a little strong, the alcoholis quite evident. Th mouthfeel is a little thick and the carb is low. Overall, one of their better releases.

Bottle part of the innis and gunn gift pack at the lcbo.
Great looking beer, nice dark mahogany hue, with an ample head. Oaky aroma with some dark fruit, touches of vanilla, and the tradition innis butter signature. Light bitterness, low carb, medium mouthfeel. The finish has a tiny bit of pithy citrus hops, lots of dark fruit, but the typical innis buttery, oakiness is there.

330ml bottle as part of the innis and gunn xmas giftpack at the lcbo.
Amber pour, small white head. Typical innis aroma, butter, and caramel malts. I cant say im finding any rum or spice. The butter seems to die off and doesnt linger very much like past innis offerings. There is a quite sweet, and fruity finish, with a very light bitterness. But overall its pretty meh.
