Bottle at the By The Horns brewery on 7 September. Poured a dark ruby with a thin tan head and good lacing. Aroma of spruce, coffee and tart fruit. Initial flavours of citrus hops, tropical fruit and raisons. Palate is brown sugar, dark malt and pine needles.

Poured from cask, 1/3 pint at GBBF 2013, day one. Dotted spots to the glass from a filmy layer. Very dark coloured body. Roasted dark malty nose. Nuts, coffee and black berries to the taste buds. Mild bittersweet ending. Smooth and fine bodied. Tasty (London Olympia 13.08.2013).

Cask, half by handpump at Elm Park Tavern in Brixton. Clear, dark brown body under a bare naked surface. Caramel and herbal hops to the nose. Mid-sweet, dark malty flavours with hints of dried fruits. Malty sweet and bitter ending. Pleasing late night drinking (London 12.08.2013).

Very hazy dark amber beer with a tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and and a little dry with fine carbonation. Mild creamy malt, semi dry. Trace of toffee. Dry citrus - lemony with lesser generic fruits. Minerally dry finish. Satisfying if a bit dry and heavy on the malt.
