Pours hazy light gold from the bottle. The frothy, white head soon fades to a thin layer. Very little aroma—a bit of dough and mild, citric fruitiness. Taste is sweet, full of dough and spice. Finishes the same. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Overall okay but kind of dull.

Appearance: Bottle #0187, lot 390. Very dark brown, near black. Some tan head.
Aroma: Good amount of dark malt, some fruits and hops.
Taste: Dark malt, roasted, slight burnt. Strong, lasting bitterness follows. Two-faced murderer? Interesting and enjoyable.
Bought: Au Brin De Paille (Colmar), 330 ml, €4.50

Bottle shared at home. Clear darker golden with off white head. Fresh hops, light flowers and soap, guava, lychee, peach, those somewhat artificial fruit drinks. Some sweet sugary malts and soft alcohol, light creamy. Medium sweet and bitter. Bit over medium bodied. So far so good, but it has this weird sharp, almost burning finish. This has a best before date of 20 years in the future, probably not a good idea to keep it that long. It’s quite ok but does has it’s flaws.

330ml bottle. Pours amber with a light mist, medium off-white head. Aroma is a little leafy, lightly fruity, malty. Taste is smooth, fairly light on the palate, with a gentle fruity sweetness, low bitterness. Pleasant easy-going biere de garde.
