Bomber from CraftShack. Pours very dark copper (strong light) with a slight tan head. Lots of red berry aroma. Maybe some roasty malt. Hop? Med + body. Flavor is very red berry. There’s a tart note. The malt isn’t so forward as the aroma suggested it might be. This seems to be crazy complex, yet the malt/bitter seems evenly balanced. This should be aged in musty wine barrels with brett. It’s on the way there already. (minus brett, oak, etc., but it’s suggestive.)

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light slightly foamy and clingy lacing sticking nicely to the glass.
The smell had some light sweet citrus hops and a little bit of caramel malt thrown in there.
The taste was mainly sweet but had a light bitterness to it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly good sessionability about it. The carbonation struck my tongue harsh enough to definitely be an APA.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA worthy of having again.

A dark brown IPA with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with smooth fruity notes, resinous hops, nice. In mouth, a bitter chocolate malt with light floral and grassy hop, grapefruit, ok. On tap at Coney Island on tap.

Bottle sample at a He’Brew tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, caramel, stale piney hops, some fruitiness and quite a bit of alcohol. Sweet and boozy flavor with malt, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, liqueur and a boozy finish with harsh bitterness. Syrupy mouthfeel. Too sweet and boozy.

12 oz bottle. Pours a drop orange/red with full head. Aromas of caramel, malt extract and grass much like a barley wine. Flavors of toffee/grass, bitter dried oranges, and toasted malts. The rye adds a nice sharp note. ABV is noticeable but does not distract too much. Very enjoyable.

Dark brown to black color, small brownish head. Interesting aroma, original; mild coffee, dark cookies, light smoke, fire wood. Smooth and dry mouthfeel; a bit too ashy, roasted malt flavor, with hints of fruits. Ashy final.

22 oz. bottle Batch 2, bottled on 2/18/2013. Dark, muddy brown black color with a small layer of white head without retention in the snifter. Aroma is interesting. Light funky berries, dull whiskey with wood barrel. The flavor get even better.
Flavor starts with black berries and slightly tart through the center of the sip. The tart berry is smoothed out by subtle whiskey and oak wood. The body is leaning on the full with a soft creamy texture. This flavor is really interesting and I had to read the label and the pomegranate now makes a lot of sense in the flavor. It is extremely easy to drink and I have to remind myself not to chug this like "Pom" juice aged in whiskey barrels. Overall, the layer of depth and complexity took my completely off guard. Jeez, this is nice.
