Moderate high roast and chocolate dominate the nose. Moderate floral hops. Dark brown with red highlights. Light brown head lingers throughout. Creamy with large bubbles and clings down the glass. Medium-full mouthfeel. Moderate roast with the hops playing second fiddle (floral). Moderate high bitterness. Semi-dry finish.

Hazy reddish-brown. Toasty, slightly woody, citrusy character, strong alcohol, and chocolate. A bit muddled but has basic CDA components.

Bottle - Roasty malts and skunky pine hops. Jet black with a decent brown head. Pine and roast with a nice malty bitterness. Big, bold and nice.

Ya want me to say something about this. Yeah, I see this is retired. Ho-hum, yeah, I’ve had this when it wasn’t retired. Here goes.
Okay, into a pint glass and a snifter (oh yeah, two bottles, here we go).
The appearance was a decent looking hazy burnt orange to brown color with a decent looking one finger foamy head that leads to a fairly sticking lacing.
The smell had a decent sweet malty to somewhat citrusy hoppy aroma rolling all around my nose and misleading me to an extent to try to invade a sort of bitter hoppiness. Does it? Ha, I’m actually not mislead, as for the most part, its not.
The taste is fairly sweet through the malts and there really isn’t much malty sweetness at all. The aftertaste and finish, ah, well, its not there whatsoever.
On the palate, this one sits at/about a fairly light to medium with a somewhat sessionable sort of quality running about the mouth and tongue. The carbonation is there, its not misleading as it shows a decent sharpness but its nothing overbearing.
Overall, kinda glad I can get Schmaltz in SE Alaska, weird, but okay, I’ll never understand distro in this nation, but if anything okay, not a bad brew. Worthy of having again, sure will, I’d check into this. Cheers y’all.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent amber/red color with a slight transparency to it. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dissipated within less than a minute.
The smell had some crisp caramel malts coming through in a slightly dry sort of way.
The taste was fairly sweet through the malts.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light and had a fairly good sessionability about it.
Overall, this was a decent Amber ale as its nothing to go bonkers about.

Bottle. A- Malty, caramel, fruity. A- Amber color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Malty, caramel, dark fruits, slightly sweet, doughy. P- Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I love pomegranates and was excited for this beer. From the first to the last taste, I couldn’t even find a subtle hint of pomegranate. This sits somewhere between an Irish Ale and an Amber Ale for me. It’s creamy and smooth and has some fruity caramel tones but no where near what the name implies. Overall, I was quite disappointed in this beer.

Bottle @ home via rotbox. Pours a deep brown appearance with a thin brown head. Aroma is bursting with chocolate, caramel, light smoke, vanilla, and candy bar. There’s some ginger and cinnamon in the aroma as well. Medium bodied. A ton of vanilla, toasty burnt bread, chocolate, and toffee in the flavor. Moderately sweet. Booze held in check. Not a horrible beer but there’s just too much going on and they added just too much junk.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap" Pours dark amber with a whitish head. Aroma is a whole hock of dried, dark fruits, coupled with some yeast, vinous aromas, and a hint of hops. Taste is sweet, but not cloying. Low carbonation and a soft mouth feel. Somewhat complex, but in an anarchic and almost unguided way. Yet considering the crazy combination, this doesn’t taste as out there as one would expect.

Pours a deep black with red highlights with a small tan head that leaves sheets on the glass. Nose is chocolate, coffee, pine, and red fruits with hints of vanilla and toffee. A generous sweet roasted malt base supports a big citrus and pine bitterness that lingers through the finish. Medium creamy mouth with medium carbonation. Excellent.
