22oz bomber pours with a very dark body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts, molasses, dates and figs along with a vague blending of hops in the background that have a citrus gummy bear to black licorice sensation. The taste begins with malts, molasses sweetened dark roasted malts, slivers of burnt malts, toffee and chocolate. This then leads into sweet dark fruity esters midway and into the finish providing yet another facet to the experience. This is a nice sipper where the huge abv is noticeable but restrained for 17%. Overall this seems it needs some time to better integrate.

Growler fill at Whole Foods in Chandler pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, burnt toast, chocolate, pine hops and leafy earthy wet cigar leafs. The taste is fully dark roasted maltiness to burnt malts and then sliding into chocolate and earthy tobacco. Behind those notes murmurs a nice pine resiny hoppiness. This is tasty and all of these notes are going very well together. This isn’t the boldest richest of the style but it is pretty solid.

Bottle. From notes. Another boozy winner from Hebrew. Super complex, with about 100 different things all clashing together at once. Alcohol is super well hidden for how boozy it really is. Digging it.

Location: Sampled at Living Social Beerfest, 12/6/13

Aroma: The aroma has some nice hops, citrus, a little earth, and some caramel malts
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber color with a nice, cream colored head and average lace
Flavor: The taste is light-medium sweet with a nice malty flavor and a mid-heavy hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent feel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I have found this one to be a really nice example of an IPA. Good stuff. It hits nicely on most of the marks that you look for in the style.
