Single from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with a little ruby highlights. Nice light brown coloured head, foamy, decent retention, but low lacing. Loads of dark fruits (raisins, plums, prunes) with notes of chocolate, nuts and light alcohol. This last one is well-hidden though in the mouthfeel. Again, lots of dark fruits in the taste with some molasses and hints of burnt malt, caramel and licorice. Lots going here, so if you like dark fruits, you will really like this one.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a dark orange-tinted mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma is very complex, with notes of caramel, whiskey, rye, and citrus hops. Flavour is exquisitely complex, with loads of whiskey, rye, and the hops still shine through. Amazing depth to this, with a super creamy palate. Whiskey notes dominate but in a great way. This is probably the best barrel aged IPA I've had. Phenomenal stuff.

Location: 22 oz bottle from World Market - Houston Galleria, 10/9/13
Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast, some fruity hops, and plenty of spice/rye
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a large, frothy head, and heavy lacework
Flavor: The flavor is spicy and yeast, with some medium-plus hop bitterness
Palate: Medium body, slightly sticky, smooth, a mild burn for a 10%er, and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: Great looking beer! The other components are solid too, but the appearance is the standout. Style-wise, it may not quite be the epitome of an Imperial IPA.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle courtesy of Kermis. Pours a clear reddish cola with a thick but quickly dissipating off white head. Nose is a mix of citrus and hops - no belgian yeast aroma. Flavors of stone fruits and some mild toffee notes. Mildly bitter finish.
