Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown with a very slight, creamy tan head. Aroma has a bit of heat, and lots of Dark fruit. Maybye a bit of smoke. Full bodied +. Flavor is very malty, with dark fruit, coffee, could be chocolate. It’s almost meaty. Treacle is in it. It has hoppy bitterness, but it’s sort of a losing battle. Flavors are strong enough the alcohol gets lost from perception. Quite gobsmacking!

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy bronze with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out loads of Belgian yeast, rye, and a sort of licorice note. Flavour brings out loads of rye, Belgian yeast, and a little smokiness. Quite strong, with a bit of a syrupy palate. The rye is quite strong, with the Belgian yeast slightly more subdued. A little too syrupy, but still good stuff.

Transparent copper pour with thin head. Hoppy bready slightly boozy aroma. Taste starts with deep bitter hops (less of the citrus/floral flavor), then malty bread flavor (from the rye?), then dry boozy finish. Not bad - one of the best beers tried from the usually-disappointing brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was released recently. Pours clear nearly opaque dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, tangerine, cocoa, chocolate, roasted malt, toast, light char, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, cocoa, roasted malt, chocolate, toast, light char, floral, grass, pine, and floral/roasted earthiness. Moderate amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest/rind, cocoa, roast, chocolate, toast, light char, pine, floral, and grass on the finish for a good bit. Very nice compexity and balance of hop and roasted malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately crisp, sticky, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Black IPA style. All around good balance and complexity of hop and roasted malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Poured 100% beige foam. Liquid then appears as clean copper. Aroma seems citrus/resin. Creamy med body. Flavor is spice, sweet malt and I think some citrus. Finishes rye and fairly bitter. Tastes really good.
