[Cask at GBBF] Clear golden. Tangerine aroma. Medium sweet and medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Dominated by fresh tangerine, although solid bready malt plays a significant part. medium bitterness. Good stuff!

Cask Conditioned at the Hook Norton Beer Festival Sat 22nd July 2006. This was a great beer to brighten up what had been a pretty horrid wet day at Hooky Beer Festival, the festivalers seemed to treat the Glastonbury type weather and conditions as just a minor inconvienience and looked to be having a great time. This beers was yet another winner from Hooky pouring a pale amber, and with a nice fruity hoppy aroma. That trademark Hooky taste came through immediately (it must be the water) and this beer was a wondefully fruity beer that easily outshone all others that I had this day, instantly refreshing and very full flavoured at 4.2% I could drink plenty of these and not get in the least bit bored.

Cask gravity at The George, Bethersden, Summer BF 2006. Hazy deep copper colour with no head. Not a very good aroma, but sweet sticky hops in mouth are good. Mangoish fruit and hop aroma. Even a bit of farty yeast. It’s either not ready or past it’s best I would guess. Sticky strong hop flavour on end. In fact the sweet sticky hop is just too mcuh for me.

Ruby coloured with a fine head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and dark bread. Smooth and malty flavour with some chocolatey notes. A grassy bitterness shows up in the finish.

Bottled (as HN 303 AD). Copper coloured, big beige bubblyish foamy head. Aroma is strong fruity hops. Flavour is fruity and smoothly hopped. The finish is almost close to caramelly sweet. Very wellbalanced brew, and creamy palate. Quite filling for only 4%. One of the better bitters I have had lately.

Bottled (BB 01/2007). Clear amber color, firm creamy head. Woody and slightly metallic hoppy aroma. Dry, English hops dominating flavor. Hints of sweetness in the aftertaste. Quite solid bitter - does not feel like only 4.0%, propably even a bit better as a real ale version.

Bottled. Clear amber color, small tan head. Minerally metallic aroma with some toffee in it. Malty, licorice flavors, salty-hoppy finish. Mouthfeel slightly thin for an ESB. A bit similar to some Fullers’ products.

Cask handpull at Wetherspoons. Folkestone. I put the poor condition of this beer down to the fact that it was served at a JDW pub, but given the previous rating, perhaps I was wrong and that this beer really just doesn’t have much to it. Gold with thick lasting beige head. Bit of cream. Some hay type hop. In mouth, its soft and rather flavourless. Soft golden bitter with a bit of dusty hop and some citrus. Where is the flavour?

Cask gravity at Crabble Corn Mill BF 2006. Easy drinking session bitter, some hop, some dryness. Drank it without even really noticing
