[Cask at GBBF 2004] A brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel. The aroma is roasted malty on a slightly sour background due to the low alcohol content - which also gives it a thin body. Nothing wrong - just boring.

Cask at Willow Walk JDW Victoria, London Wow this was a real eye opener. Black stout with a creamy feel in the mouth, but such depths of flavour in the malts. Not just the usual chocolate and coffee but nuts and all sorts of dark fruits. Wonderful

Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford One of my favourite premium bitters. It has a lovely chestnut colour with a gold malty fruitiness and then a finish of hops. Good beer, worth a try

Very dark color. Nice aroma, combination of roasted malt, caramel, ripe apple. Good body structure, some malty caramel, light fresh apple fruitness. Good hopping, partially aromatic. Interesting, very drinkable.

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Hook Norton Generation". Amber golden, slightly hazy with a small, creamy head. Fruity, floral and fresh nose. Rather sweet, malty flavours well balanced by the pronounced hoppiness. A very nice bitter. 240505 (Bottle 50 cl) As "Hook Norton 303 AD" 5/3/4/2/10=2,4 291005

Cask. Fresh, acidic, spicy hop aroma. Hazy, copper colour, white head. Citrusy flavour, turning malty. Good spicy hoppiness. Sourish aftertaste (in the good way). Soft mouthfeel.

Cask. Salty, slightly fruity liquorice aroma. Almost black colour with brown hue. Small light brown head. Slightly sweet and fruity flavour with a little salt and liquorice. Mouthfeel could be a bit thicker. Slightly roasted aftertaste.

Golden color, poor head. Light floreal (hoppy) aroma. Balanced taste, malty, some cereals, well bitter, partially aromatic. Pleasant.
