Amber coloured. The nose is so flowery and perfumy that we jokingly renamed it Golden Shampoo Ale... Light bodied, low bitterness. No favourite of mine.

Medium-fullbodied. Good, long hop-bitterness................................

Very earthy, with a touch of woody dryness, and an underlying medicinal or herbal character.

Sparkling copper colour; aroma of elderflowers and oven-fresh bread, with a pinch of sage and clover honey. The palate is light, the honeyish body is sweet but stylish featuring unfolding florals, winter melon, all built on a moderately bitter backbone. Sweet but refreshing in the finish, with more clover. It's funny though, as my overall impression is that this beer is not as good as the sum of its parts. Let's see what the other Ontario raters have to say.

Bronze; scant aroma; fairly earthy maltiness with brown sugar notes; very simplistic beer with a notably ironish finish that I didn't care for.

Well, when you're English ale comes in a can, you can't have too high expectations. It's not bad, and probably has a better yeast complexity on cask, but there are a lot of better English ales out there.
