Description
The process of brewing beer hasn’t changed much since we started back in 1777. And neither has our unique approach to crafting characterful beer. But our equipment most certainly has.

Our state-of-the-art, independent, family-owned brewery now stands proudly alongside our old brewery on the banks of the River Stour in Blandford, Dorset. Using the finest ingredients and over 240 years of expertise, our brewers create beer that brims with flavour.

Bottle. Clear dark red with a proper white head. Aroma of plums, cranberries, liquorice and metal. Taste of malts plums, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries and liquorice. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. It’s a strange beast and I can’t make head or tail of it. Sure it’s an interesting combination of flavors and unique but unfortunately not really that delicious.

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Aroma has initial bitter coffee notes soon joined by sweet caramel. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy beige head. Bitter coffee but with a big intrusive dollop of caramel in there too. Sour berry edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Soft vaguely fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. For me the Coffee Stout byline is slightly misleading. Should be Coffee with Loads of Caramel Syrup Stout. Nice enough though. Just heading towards too sweet for me.

Amber going to chestnut colour, nice creamy foam. Malty, sweet, caramel, plum, dry fruits and berry aroma. The taste is sweet but fruity, caramel, a hint of liquorice, mild, balancing bitterness. Worth trying.

En 0,44 boks fra kjøleskapet til Mossy Well, i hagen hos Steven mens vi griller: klar kobbergylden med fint skum som varer. Nydelig citrusaroma og -smak, god maltkropp og fin bitterhet i avslutningen. Mersmak.
