Description
Known more as a cutting-edge cider maker, Eric Bordelet was a top sommelier at Arpege in Paris, before returning home to Normandy in 1992 to take over the family business. He biodynamically grows more than 20 apple varieties and 15 pear varieties

Production Overview: Manual harvesting from September to December. Fruit is coarsely crushed and gently pressed with settling and racking of the juice. Fermentation using traditional and natural ‘methode ancestrale’ (using only the fruits natural sugars) in vats and bottled retaining natural balance of sugar and acidity with additions of sulphites (mineral and solution) between 50-80 mg depending on cuvee and vintage. These are naturally gently sparkling in order to retain the original quality of each fruit.

Orchards: Mostly estate fruit with Poire Granit coming from very old trees scattered throughout the region. 30 varieties of apples, 20 varieties of pears and 8 varieties of Cormes.

2013 bottle from vinmonopolet. Pours golden yellow. Nose is pair, Apple, vanilla, some white grapes, palate is intense pear, apple, grape bonbon, vanilla finish. It's definitely good. It's been 3 and a half year since my last ice Perry and this is a great comeback.

Vintage 2013, 7.5 % abv, from a big bottle. Many thanks to Cunningham for this one. No head or lacing, bright copper coloured body. Sweet and dry pears on the nose. Caramelized pears to the taste buds, hints of apples as well. Oaky palate. Ends with sweet pears. Well bodied. Okay as a sweet dessert. (Hotel room, Oslo 03.07.2021).

23/6/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale gold with a beige tint and short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of baked pear, apple strudel, caramel, slight mucky edge. Medium sweetness and moderate sour. Moderate body, oily texture, gently fizzy carbonation. Lovely sweet and tart finish. Super drinkable. Really liked this.

Clear orange blond cider, small creamy off-white head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots and lots of sweet apples, sugary impression. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of ripe apples, a bit acidic, fruity, some tannins, gentle bitterness, lots of sweet apple juice, very nice and refreshing. Aftertaste: rather dry finish, very fruity and lots of unsweetened apple juice.

2016 Vintage. juz sam korek swiadczy o wysokiej jakosci tegoz cydru.

Bottle from 2013. Smells complex, caramel but not too sweet, acidity and fruit come through although pear vs. apple isn't apparent. Very smooth, big acidity, more on the dry side than some other ice perrys/ciders. High complexity. Great mouthfeel!

Bottle, 2013, thanks Stefan! Phenomenal aroma with pears, vanilla and wet wood. Some raisin in there too. Taste follows that pattern with fresh pear flesh, vanilla and wood. Less sweet than aroma set up for. Great stuff!

Almost clear yellow, fizzy carbonation. Smells sweet, light, some funk. Light and refreshing body. Taste is sweet, plenty of pear, some light funk. Maybe a tad too sweet, but very refreshing and easy to drink, excellent for summer. Enjoyble.
