Tap at Open Baladin, Roma, 21/06/13. Clear copper golden with a thin off white head. Nose is orange, citrus, hops, grass, farmy. Taste comprises orange rind, lemon, herbal notes, grass, light spice, background hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with bitter notes. Decent saison hybrid.

Huge, dark-beige head over brownish tinted black beer; classic lacerings. Rich chocolate & cappuccino nose. Bit of black cardemom, roasted grains, and thyme in the background. Black cardemom again, bark, ink, black chocolate and cold coffee. Impression of sweetness behind all this, and a suspicion of (chili-like) heat. Quite slick, even viscous. Medium bodied at least; sprittzy, despite the creamy head. Good one! More than decent, balanced Porter.

Draught Fluffy white-transparant head over hazy orange-yellow beer. Citrus, wet dog, pastadough, dried herbs. Bitter, orange, liqueurish - as a more bitter version of Mandarine Napoléon, or a liqueur based on kumquat. Medium to well-bodied. Oily, filmy feel, alcoholwarming. One to savour slowly.

Draught Good, stable off-white head over orange-coppery beer with a light haze. Grains, malty, faintly toasted and spiced. Bitter, but not hoppy! Tastes like Cynar or other vegetable bitter liqueur. Long-lasting bitterness. Well-bodied, very slick to oily, warming throatfeel. This is not an IPA IMO, it’s just a very bitter beer. Wrong hops.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Italian Beerfest ’13. Orangée, col épais crémeux beige. Arôme est dominé par le malt avec un houblonné qui arrive juste en rétro-nasal et donne cette impression de houblon bouillis. Note de grains avec un rappel à un bol e céréales. Palais est malté, note de sève de houblon-huileux-jus. Malt pâle-caramel pour une pétillance moyenne, amertume légère. Pas mauvaise, mais le profil général des houblons semble trop atténué par les grains.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Italian Beerfest ’13. Orangée, col fin disparate blanc. Arôme donne de suite le ton avec un alcool bien présent avec un houblonnage assez discret. Palais donne un profile qui me rappel une bière barrique avec ce léger côté Sauvignon, alcool présent avec un houblonné huileux. Le tout reste nettement plus centré sur les malts avec un houblonnage qui peine un peu à se distinguer et procure une amertume assez faible.
