I have not had the chance to try this one before, but I will definitely not forget to get back to this one again. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this brew pours a bright gold with lots of floaters and a large white head. The aroma is marvelous. Sweet, fruity and spicy. One of the most appetizing smelling beers I have encountered. The taste did not quite live up to the aroma but was excellent regardless. Light sweet malts, a moderate yeasty presence and some light honey and fruit elements.

Bottle Clear, amber body, off-white creamy head. Long-lasting head. Good lace. Malts and yeasts in the nose. Modeerately bitter initial flavour. Heavily bitter finish. Deffinetly not a bad beer, but not convincing enough to be good.

Bottled. Clear ruby. Buttery aroma with some blackberries. Sweet and rounded, fairly roasty with clean mouthfeel and low hop rate. Drier finish. An easy going, well balanced ale.

2004 bottle. Dull, light yellow, slight rust tinges with a poorly retained white head. Clear, seems filtered. Aroma is very difficult to get out of this beer. I can smell some dry yeast, slight pepperiness and a bit of alcohol and light malt, but it’s very faint. Flavor begins with a little bit of grainy malt, slight hints of sugar and a touch of yeast. The body is horribly watery, and light. Everyone commented at the trippel tasting how bland and watery this was. And I have to agree. Not really offensive, but it had some dry, papery notes, wet cardboard and a touch of spice. Nothing exciting or particularly good here, IMHO.

Draught Hazy yellowish with very slight greenish shine; dense & fine small, very white head. Classical combination of coriander and orange peel. Textbook-copycat witbier nose. Taste again as above, but with a vengeance. Here is a rather strange perfumed taste - partly due to the coriander - that I associate with exotic cuisine as Thai. It gives definitely an extra to the beer - and it makes me unfortunately hungry. Light bodied, but well-textured. Thanks to the taste, better than average witbier.
