Description
Since George and Susannah Bateman opened our independent family brewery in 1874, we’ve been using the best possible ingredients and craft brewing methods to make beers that people love.
Four generations later, and we’re still doing things our own way – and have quite a few more beers to our name.

# 2936; 5/2022. Fruity and lemon aroma. Brilliant gold body; white head. Extremely fruity, jam, berries, spicy; sweet berry finish. Well, I am not sure if it is good exemple of ESB, but definitely it is an interesting (multigrain) ale. 0,5 l, bottle, local shop, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).

Bottle from Morrisons, Aldershot. Aroma had sweet caramel and berries. Clear dark amber. Thin creamy off-white head soon fades. Light-medium bitter. Woody. Tangy. Sour berry streak gains traction. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Interesting enough.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy off-white head. The aroma is red berry fruits and light roasted malt. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, light tart, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, light spicy, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Hand-pulled third of a pint in The Picture House (a Spoons in Stafford) on 8th April 2022. Golden body, white head that lasted. Mild citrussy nose and taste, semi-bitter overall, lacked depth of flavour for me though.
