Description
Elgood & Sons is a family-owned brewing company situated in the heart of ‘Fen’ country in Cambridgeshire, England. Home to Elgood’s is the North Brink Brewery which was established in 1795, and was one of the first classic Georgian Breweries to be built outside London.

In 1878 it came under the control of the Elgood family, and so it remains today, with the fifth generation of the Elgood family now coming through to run the business, maintain the traditions, and push the company boldly forward into the 21st Century.

Mahogany colour. Appetizing, fruity cherry aroma. Dry with rounded mouthfeel, notes of tobacco. Some disturbing vegetables in the finish. Medium bitterness. This beer is like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.

Clear deep golden. Sweet, honeyish and fruity up front, followed by soft, rounded maltiness and a drier, resiny finish with good bitterness. Somewhat bold and unrefined, but still a more than decent pint.

A dark brown beer with a beutiful but disappearing head. The aroma is hoppy with notes of roasted malt. The flavor is very soft and dominated by a good roasted malt giving it a wellbalanced sweet giving way to a slight bitterness turning somewhat dry before lingering. A really good beer.

Near black. Dry and very roasty - yet fruity (apples and plums prominent). Notes of licorice. Long, dry bitter finish. A very pleasant cask porter.

Pale nut brown. Ashy aroma. Light bodied, very dry. Fruity and astringent. Mildly roasty with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Salty and very bitter finish. Very flavourful for it's gravity, but not all that interesting.
