Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Clear, copper colour. Halo of white head. Sweet malt. Tinned strawberry, oddly. Taste is light tart. More of the tinned fruit thing. Comes across a bit artificial. Crisp palate, albeit a little watery. Finish is short and dry. Not for me, this one.

Keg at Holyrood 9A as Wharfebank Red Angel. Pours clear amber, thin white head, big bubbles, high carbonation. Aromas of orange and caramel. Taste is sweet, light bitter at the back. Prickly carbonation kinda spoils it though.

A dark cherry stout, half pint from cask at the Rook & Gaskill in York. Shiny black surface to an inky black coloured body. Dark berries and notes of liquorice to the nose. Taste of chocolate malts and coffee supported by an evident impact of semi-tart cherry. Well blended. Very smooth, almost velvety in the mouth. Pretty good (11.07.2014).
