Description
Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Opaque. Very weedy aroma. Like way over the top. Tastes…weedy. Medium bitterness, terpenes and then some. Soft malt.

Hazy, pale. Thin head. Mellow guava note over top of a sweetish pale malt base with moderate bitterness. Well balanced character.

Looks pale mango colour. No head. Nice balance between mango and passionfruit and some good hoppy base pale.

Pale with some haze. Thick head. Has some Helles characteristics but it’s lacking that full maltiness. So it’s nice but not entirely to style.

Pale salmon colour, thin head. Tart, cherry lends a mild fruitiness. The slightest funk. OK, maybe not quite as good as Cherry Operis but still solid.

Slight haze, pale, thick head. Aroma is lemony, pale malt, light herbals, grassiness. On the palate, lots of malt, pale and clean, slight alcohol in the finish, mellow hop notes.

473ml can. Pours a clear amber brown with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and floral hops. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses and spicy hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with an oily to watery texture and average to soft carbonation. Tasty and crushable.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, tangerine, mango, pineapple, earthy yeast and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy wheat malt, grapefruit, peach, mango, earthy yeast and piney hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation. Solid.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 16/04/2025). Murkey pale blonde with white head. Sticky dank weed aroma (not as intense as Blue Dream). Taste is mild cannabis, some feint floral and melon hops with a fairly milky chalky yeast base. Blue Dream is the far superior cannabis terpene beer offering. Edit: as I continue sipping on this, the hop burn ramps up, but the chalk softens. Debated about raising it to a 6.2, but keeping it at 6.0.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 03/04/25). Chill hazed yellow gold with small white head. Green herbaceous hops upfront with some feint kiwi skin in the background that offsets what could be too herbaceous. Doesn't quite hit the mark, but something new and interesting. Okay.
