Description

330ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish, golden colour with huge, firm, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Funky, herbal-spicy, yeasty and minimally yeasty fruity aroma, notes of mustard seed, fresh hay, brine, a touch of unripe peach and apricot. Taste is dry, yeasty herbal-spicy and sweet-ish, yeasty fruity, notes of mustard seed, some sage, hints of unripe peach, unripe apricot, unripe pear, moderate hop bitterness, minimally waxy overtones, chlorophyll. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice composition, quite spicy, sadly a tad waxy - decent.

Can picked up from Etre Gourmet Webshop, Tubize, Belgium and had this sat outside Frank Friday 17th June 2022 watching fireflies at Camping Soyensee, north of Wasserburg. Pours hazy yellow with a white head, fairly decent effort of this style, did lose its carbonation quickly though. Some clean subtle citrus flavours, lemon in particular, good.

750 ml bottle, bb 16.08.2022. Dark orange, hazy body, with a big, frothy, rocky, lacing, yellowish head. Quite light aroma of wheat, apricot, citrus, orange, spices. Tastes more aromatic, with more tropical fruits, while also quite a lot of spices. Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation. Finishes spicy, quite bitter, a bit sweet, wheaty, fruity, with long-lasting piney hop notes. Nice one. The nose is a bit underwhelming for me, not much going on. Taste is nice though, with quite a lot of fruity hops, maybe a bit too much on the spicy side. The finish is also nice, with long-lasting hoppy notes. Overall not an outstanding Hopfenweisse, but still quaffable stuff. Score: 6 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15
