Description
The first references to a brewery in the Weltenburg Monastery are to be found in the Weltenburg Nekrologium, in which it states that the master brewer died. Another scientifically recognized source is a recorded entry in the “Libellus Traditionum”, which is over 900 years old, and which dates from shortly before or after 1050.

In the barely millennium to the present day, monastic beer production in Weltenburg was only interrupted by the secularization from 1803 to 1846. In 1846 the brewery became monastery property again, and it has remained there to this day. The Weltenburg monastery brewery can therefore rightly be called the oldest monastery brewery in the world.

very dark pour, small beige head.
Aroma is super malty, this is like a malt bomb. Bready, and chewy, like a wonderful fresh loaf of bread. THe flavour is a malt explosion, again, very reminiscent of a big fresh chewy loaf of german bready, a wodnerul sipping treat, i love it!

Bottiglia.

500ml bottle from Noz Hazebrouck. Pours a clear amber, sparse off-white head becoming patchy. Aroma has mild caramel, light chestnut and fruity moments. Flavour profile continues, settled caramel malt, gentle carbonation with an English best bitter feel, lingering sweet malt on the finish. Ok
