Description
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project began on a shoestring budget in 2008. We exist to allow 20 year professional brewer Dann Paquette to make an honest living while giving his imagination free reign. We brew our beers in other people's breweries because we can't afford our own. We enjoy the up-at-dawn lifestyle and the freedom to brew beers of our own imagining. We brew all our beers ourselves: Dann brews and formulates, Martha mills in. We dream up our beers together, inspired by Europe, by history, and by BEER and all it can be. We are based in Somerville, but brew mostly in Westport, MA, hence the early mornings. Cheers!

22oz Bottle Pours out cloudy amber topped with a cream head. Aroma was citrus, caramel, bread malts, and some tropical fruit. Taste was much as the aroma with a good balance of citrus hops and sweet malts. This beer was a surprise to me a10% mild ale it just doesn’t make scents to me.

Bottle from Firefly, Vancouver
Black color; creamy head, beige, persistent. The aroma is mild, yet very interesting, with roasted malts, coffee; a bit sweaty but also fruity; light vanilla; later it gets excellent, with loads of noble English hops.
Good body structure; strong flavor of dark chocolate and roasted malts; very good balance of roastiness and acidity from the malts, strong bitterness.
The roasted malt character is a bit too strong for my liking in the end; the alpha acids can clearly be perceived. But overall it’s an excellent, powerful, balanced beer.

Bottle from Firefly Maple Ridge, Vancouver; bottled November 2009, 11 months old
The darkest black color, pouring viscous, forming a compact brownish head, creamy and persistent, perfect.
The aroma is very mild, with some roasted malt; considering how the flavor is great, it’s a pity that the aroma is not at par.
It has a good body structure, and a very smooth mouthfeel, with fancy roasted malt flavor, light coffee, and a good vibe, some intriguing freshness, malt sourness. The final is a bit drier and balanced, with a vague acidity.
Very good, harmonious. It makes a statement.

Bomber from michael-pollack. Pours dishwater gold with a creamy near white head. Large floral/citrus aroma with some yeast/spice. Undertone is really very Tripel. Med + body with very frothy carbonation. Flavor is citrus, yeast/spice, and for a passing moment Fleers bubble gum. Then it goes a little herby. Then floral. This seems really dry to me. Like it.
