On draughts at The Trappist. Full, malty aroma. Pours deep chestnut brown with deep red on the edges. Large brown head. Minuscule bubbles and clinging down the glass. Taste of massive, semi-sweet chocolate. Not overpowering. Chewy mouthfeel but a clean, crisp finish. Nice carbonation as well. Easy drinking and delightful.

Bottled at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen, Denmark. Hazy amber, rich head. Rich hay aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Fruity with hay and cardboard. Long spicy bitterness.

Dark ruby read with a lasting beige head. Nice sweet fruits, plum, light yeast, and maybe a bit of booze in the aroma. Medium, silky body. Flavor is full of ripe fruit, plum, lightly sweet malts, yeast, a touch of spice, and light alcohol heat. Mighty fine.

Bottled@Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Hazy orange colour with small beige head. Aroma is fruits, some grass and mild floral notes as well. Flavour s is being quite much with also some crisp maltyness building it up. Wellbalanced and quite pleasant ESB.

i think dan is way more of a mad genius than anyone else in craft brewing right now, and yes...more than sam from dogfish. this was a very easy to drink stout, not trying to play one-upsmanship like most others in terms of abv, just going after the right combo that will be something new. love it.

Pours deep brown, nearly black with a large and long lasting creamy tan head. Roasty malts, light coffee, some fruity hops in the aroma. Medium bodied. Very interesting porter. Has the standard light coffee, chocolate, roasted malt profile but adds in a healthy hop kick. Bitterness comes from the roasted malt and hops, which is fun. Finish is long and bitter. Fun beer.

22 oz. bottle. Label over cap stated “bottled May 2011 Batch 25.” Hazy gold with an orange tint. Higher carbonation with a decent amount of head. Nose is lots of barnyard, Belgian spice and a bit of lemon zest. A good amount of hops, citrus and light spice. Light and dry finish. Lightly hoppy. You pick up more funk as it warms. A decent Saison. If you like this style, it’s worth a try. Went down easy. I paid $5.99 at Table and Vine, West Springfield, MA.
