Clear but very dark brown beer. Small pale tan head. Palate is smooth but with a crispy edge. Nice fresh malts - semi sweet with a touch of chocolate. Just a whisper of sweet candy fruits before a minerally finish that provides balancing bitterness and a little citrus. All flavours in good balance. Tasty and very drinkable.

Bottle at home (Beermerchants.com) 22/11/12. Mid black with a dirty coffee head that soon thins to a film and clears to the edges. Nose is dark roast malts, coffee, touch of chocolate, hops, light mineral tones. Taste is coffee, bitter chocolate, roast malts, plenty of hops, Mouthfeel is fullish in body, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate in a way it begs you to drink more - absoloutely spot in this aspect. Great stuff, well balanced, alcohol well hidden, excellent now, look forward to ageing some.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London on 23rd October 2012. Black with dying pale tan head. Rich pungent aroma. Sweet with fruity berries in-mouth, alongside soft fruit notes. Fruity end with redcurrant and rasspberry. Zingy mouthfeel, bodily on the thin side.

Cask at the CRAFT Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 13th October 2012. Gold with thin white foam and some lacing. Hoppy, cheesy aroma, then intensely bitter in-mouth. Sharp, cutting bitterness continues through to finish where it is met by some nuttiness. Bitterness only slightly offset by subtle biscuit malt. Rich and intense, packs a nice punch.

Craft and again at Brew Wharf a month later. Best part of a pint courtesy of Ang - Cheers mate. Almost clear pale gold beer, small white head. Light dry palate, fresh and crisp. Neutral pale malt. Nice hops - floral sweetness. Mild tangerine marmalade. Fresh bitter grapefruit. Nice skunky Nelson lurking around. Finishes dry with a grapefruit bitter aftertaste. Really well joined up and very drinkable.

Cask at Brew Wharf Saturday 20th October 2012 What a wonderful hoppy, golden ale at just 3.8%. Had this in the company of Ang, who actually made sure that this got put on whilst the Thames Tipple crowd came through, thanks Ang! Lovely beer bursting with hops, fruity and so full of flavour for such a low gravity beer. I wish I’d have given more thought to details but to be honest it was busy and we were just having a good time. Excellent beer. A8 A5 T8 P4 Ov16 4.1

On tap at the Brew Pub. Light haze on this amber beer, Tiny white head. Fairly low carbonation and smooth palate. Very mild pale malts with the mellow hops - a little fresh orange and a little orange marmalade. Finishes semi dry. Decent but needs a bit more carbonation.

On tap at the Brew Pub. This was pretty grim but then I had the last of the cask and the barman gave me a free one when he put the new on. Cheers! Hazy gold beer, little white head. Smooth palate with mild carbonation. Nice malts - caraway nutty German malty goodness, a little herbal. Seamlessly integrated with mellow orange hops and nice dried fruits in the background, apricot most noticeable. Smooth mild finish with mild fresh hop sting. Coulda been a little more carbonated but an enjoyable and inventive beer.
