At tge Brew Pub. Very dark brown beer, clear. Tiny pale tan head. Palate is light and a little dry. Light dark chocolate and dark malts. Whisper of smoke. Tangy mild hops - orange. Finishes semi dry with all flavours blending nicely. A decent porter but a little thin.

Cask, gravity, Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb 2013 w/e of Friday 15th, Saturday 16th February 2013 Gold with a thin bubbly white head, clear and looks good. The pecan wood chips certainly alter the aroma when compared to the OverReaktion, the lemonyness is blunted, it is altogether a more rounded and softer beer in the mouth and whilst I mentioned that perhaps the OverReaktion lacked a little complexity, throwing pecan wood chips into this added to it. The flavours remain very much in the citrussy end of the flavour spectrum but with a dab of creaminess to soften it out a bit. Very nice and like its sibling this got better as the festival went on. Cask, gravity, Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb 2013 w/e of Friday 15th, Saturday 16th February 2013 Gold with a slim white head, good clarity lacking a little sparkle initially (Thursday) but strangely regains this by Friday. At first I felt that this was a little too dry and lemony and a bit flat but as I have already mentioned this just got better, perhaps it was just a little slow out of the traps. Hoppy, dry and bitter and very decent, maybe could have done with a little more complexity, but nonethless an enjoyable beer. I also had this on handpump at Brew Wharf Tues 12th Feb 2013.
