Description
A family-run craft brewer. Trevor Harris and his wife Kes set up Derby Brewing Company in 2004, they are now semi-retired but still keep a close eye on the beer! Their son Paul is currently the managing director.

[ As Derby Red Ryeding Hood ].Clear medium red amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, rye, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a long duration, hoppy, caramel, dark malt - rye, grapefruit - dark fruit - citrus, nutty notes, earthy notes. Cask handpump at The Queens Head, Little Eaton, Derbyshire Friday 16th December 2016 Pours gold, superb clarity with a sticky white head. Fruity with a good steady bitterness but soft mouthfeel, Fuzzy bitterness across the roof of the mouth. Good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Cask at the Wellington, Bingohame, 26/11/16. Light black with reddish hues at the base topped with an attractive khaki head. Nose is light roast, charr, chocolate, gentle spice. Taste comprises subtle coffee notes, dark fruit tingle, roast malt, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop dusting. Ok porter.
