Sampled from the tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has bitter dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of smoke and birch notes supporting. Flavor is bitter dark grain forward as well with roast, smoke and a touch of birch coming through.

Pours a darker golden-pineapple, with mid-sized head. Aroma is bread, malt, citrus. Flavor is citrus and tropical fruit, some bread. Soft mouthfeel. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish.

Deep amber with a frothy, off-white head. Jalapeño aroma. Caramel. Vague fruitiness. Taste is bitter with citrus, caramel, and a moderate jalapeño spiciness at the finish. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Good balance overall with the jalapeño fairly strong, but not overwhelming.

On tap at Brew'd Craft Pub, pours a clear copper amber with a small beige head. Aroma has some spruce tips, bready malt and a hint of toasted caramel. Flavour is very dry, with plenty of spruce, bready malt and a hint of subtly sweet toasted caramel. Nice use of the spruce tips, but it's a pretty average, forgettable beer. Decent.

Can thanks to Mom & Dad. Pale gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of pears, spice, straw. Takes a different drift than the typical German pils. Taste is bitter, although only mildly so. Finish is shortish, but crisp, clean. Not bad.
