A reddish amber IPA with a thin light moka head. In aroma, sweet treacle malt, with white grapes, vinous and smooth, veering into barley wine territory. In mouth, a sweet candy treacle malt, lightly vinous, oily mouthfeel, smooth British hops, quite nice but not a hop bomb. On tap at Vices et Versa, April 22 2011.

Bottle thanks to Arch. Pours black with a very light brown head. Nose is lactose, powdered milk and roast chocolate malt. Some light hops. Taste is creamy chocolate milk and roasted chocolate malt. Light body for a regular stout, nevermind an imperial. Smooth. Easy drinking.

Bottle, courtesy of Enjoyit. It pours a clear, amber body and a dense off-white head. Too sugary on the nose, with pineapple, citrus peel and some resins. The flavor too is a bit on the sweet side. A nice bitterness and hoppy flavors balances it, pineapple, lemon peel and a resiny touch. Full-bodied and effervescent. Bitter finish with sugary malts. A quite nice one, but even a double ipa shouldn’t have this much sugar. 110129

Crisp, slightly honey tinted golden coloured body with a very nice dense off-white head with microbubbles and a good amount of small bubbles rising from the bottom constantly. Very fragrant aroma of belgian yeast, honey, fruit, caster sugar, raisins and a touch of hay - very nice! Medium-bodied; Assertive yeastiness up front with a good amount of malt (wheat?), some nice mellow coriander seed and curacao freshness, a little sweetness and finished very dry and almost like a biere de garde. Aftertaste is quite complex with the belgie characteristics coming through, but showing some saison dryness and a little sweetness of a tripel. Overall, a nice and complex beer - definitely worth trying if you can find this! I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased at Marche des Saveurs in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 04-December-2010 for CA$4.69 sampled at home in Washington on 25-April-2011.

500mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of pretty much just citrus hops and caramel. Flavour of caramel, honey, citrus hops and a little bit of cloying sweetness.
