Dark color, brown with red hue, and compact beige head. The aroma is sour and penetrating, fruity, a bit earthy; in line with the North American style, it has a bit of acetic acid, maybe acetone, but it’s one of the best. Good body strength, possibly with some residual sugars; round mouthfeel, good caramelly malts, strong sourness, and overall a very good fruity character, dark fruits, sour cherries, some dark berries too; a bit woody and astringent in the final.
One year old, perfectly mature, great North American Sour.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy amber color ale with a nice large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light oak notes and some light residual sugar notes. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some light oak and funky flavour with no acidity and some light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice mix of complexity while retaining some good drinkability.

Bottle - Light soft wheat and a touch of soap and corriander. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet, salty and some peppery notes. Subtle and not too aggressive.Earlier Rating: 9/8/2013 Total Score: 3.6Bottle - Pale malts, lemon, straw, little farmhouse and some yeast. Cloudy pale yellow with a rich bubbly head. Quick hit of honey, lemon, grassy flavour then it disappears completely with a mild soapy salty finish. A great summer beer I could drink all night.

On tap at Darby’s Gastown. Pours an almost clear golden, with a white head. Aroma is very strange as for German Hefeweizen very fruity, similar to grut, some tropical fruits, sweety. No banana, no smoked notes. Taste is quite similar to aroma. Non-intense hoppy bitterness aftertaste. Very strange beer, not a hefeweizen at all. Not bad though.
