Cask @ 3 Judges. Mahoney - brown colour, dense tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, fruits. Flavour is toasted malts, fruits and glue, hint of oats. Slightly oily texture.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2010. Orange colour. Some decent citrus, crystallised fruit which is quite nice. That is really drinkable. Bit of heat on end. Bit hot. Good crystallised fruits though.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Bright gold with a thin white head; heady, fruity aroma with apricot and cherry; thick oily body with the same fruity flavours and unctious chewy malts; the finish is dry with some sour fruit and a rounded gentle bitterness and no sign of the alcohol, so not as warming as promised, but nevertheless an excellent strong ale.

12th November 2008. Clear brown beer. Low carbonation. A little dusty. Lightly tangy nutty malt. Not much hoppy fruit but slightly bitter aftertaste. Nothing special unfortunately!

(Cask at Gallows Real Ale Fest ’10) Poured with mahogany colour and clear. No head was formed. Aroma contained berries and strawberry. Palate was medium bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, berries, strawberry and very mild bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and mildly bitter.

Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Dark reddy brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma fairly standard malts with some roasted coffee notes. Flavour was slightly sweet, with some chocolate notes and a slight bitterness. Drinkable if underwhelming. Point off for celebrating kiddie mauling dogs too.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 27 Nov 2009) Amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, apricots, molasses and treacle. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, orange marmalade and a slightly bittersweet finish. Full body, fairly sweet and rather vinous with warming alcohol towards the end. Very nice winter warmer.
