Draught and bottles, since debut, most recently April 2015.
Clear copper-goldenrod body is topped by a small, off-white head that is mostly well-retained.
Toasty malt with flowers, light spices and some earthiness in the nose proclaim a pretty honorable rendition of the "traditional alt". Yes, there’s acidity and citrus here as well, but it’s light and helps take some of the intensity from the toasted malt sourness. No alcohol or flaws, very clean and fruity.
The munic malt does its usual thing, adding tons of sourdough flavor, but there’s enough residual sugar to balance, leaving a malty caramel flavor lingering, while floral hoppiness and citrus bitterness also coalesce on the finish. Vanilla and brown bread notes are subdued and the carbonation is strong and helps clear all of this malt (both the sour and sweet) and hop bitterness.
I don’t love beers with a high proportion of munich malt. It just exacerbates any hop acidity with the heavy sourdough/toasted flavors and really fatigues the palate, requiring, in turn, more fatiguing sweetness to balance. That being said, they do a good job here and it’s still quite drinkable, especially if youre looking for a more substantial beer to go with a meal or whatnot. Again, very clean and not much to complain about.

Draught and bottles since debut, most recently Spring 2015.
Hazy golden body has a small but fairly well-retained head.
Fresh, aromatic, floral hops in the nose are fragrant but boast no heavy acidity or pine, which seems like a big accomplishment these days, when using colombus and centennial. Orange rind, wheat-like nuttiness and biscuit-like malt with a bit more honey as it warms.
Not quite sure exactly why I love this beer so much. The drinkability is certainly at the forefront and the lack of punchy or heavily acidic hop notes dosent hurt either. Medium-light bodied, well-attenuated, with fruity and nutty notes from the rye and yeast. Of the hazy IPAs/Pale ales, this one seems on a whole nother level for me and almost strikes me as an unfiltered hoppy wheat ale (which I thought was what it was for a long while). Replace the wheat with rye and youre not far off. Somehow still delicate, with touches of honey for balance and no astringency or huskiness. Just a great beer and enough reason for me to almost always try these guys’ other offerings.

4 pack of 16oz cans $12.49, drunk May 2015
Clear, hay-golden body is well-carbonated and boasts a white head that is foamy and slowly recedes to cover.
Good mix of malt and hop in the nose, which is impressive given the use of simcoe and citra in a small 4.3% abv beer. Biscuits, hay, pepper and mild tropical fruit flavors are all in harmony, with a touch of drying citrus on the end (lemon oil, tangerine). Not terribly fruity, and quite dry, seemingly, from the nose, with no flaws or alcohol noted.
Bone dry and well carbonated, the beer kicks off with grainy malt flavors of cracker and dry biscuit snapping at the palate as the semi-citric, mango-lime infused hoppiness does most of the work flavor-wise and thankfully imparts little to no heavy acidity on the finish. Certainly crisp, drinkable and refreshing, but as much as I hate to say it, it may go just a bit too far in the dryness department, with a strong popcorn huskiness that may reveal a tinge of diacetyl (it’s not strong, but with this delicate of a beer, any huskiness is quite pronounced). Other than that, they certainly nailed the carbonation, hop flavor and hop acid balance. These are tough beers to brew as you’re working with a very slim margin for error on any aspect, as every little flaw/imperfection/imbalance is exaggerated or at least revealed.

Bottle from Candia Road Convenience. Aroma is toasted bread, cereal, hop, and slightest hint of chocolate and smoke. Appearance is clear copper with good sparkle with creamy off-white less than finger width head with foamy lacing. Taste is balance of moderate sweet and bitter with some smoke. Palate is light to medium bodied, average texture, lightly creamy with average carbonation--lightest buzz on the tip of the tongue and wet but fairly abrupt finish with balance of sweet and mild bitterness. Overall, above average beer with decent attributes but nothing that is spectacular or really stands out.

Draft @ The Barking dog Alehouse, Haverhill, MA. Aroma is mostly coriander with a bit of seawater air. The taste is subtle wheat flavors accentuated by a coriander with a distinctly light tart finish. Very mild tartness with a very thin body. Overall this brewer did hit the style guidelines correctly. Not top tier but easy enough to drink for the style.

Bottle. Pours opaque back, very large brown head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is wheat, lots of anise, molasses, black licorice. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, some sharp acidity. Medium body, high carbonation. Tough to categorize...

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden yellow to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some light lacing that slides into the beer.
The smell started off with a mostly spicy to light floral touch of sweet lemon.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined to flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a clear sessionability about it. Slight peppery feel rolls over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good saison, slightly refreshing and crisp, might be lacking in breadiness but still worthy of having again.

Bottle shared at Anchorage Feb ’15 Tasting: Poured orange with white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, oaky, and fermented fruits. The barrel aging has melded this beer very well with oak, caramel malts, fruity, subtle hops.

Pours a slightly hazed gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Lemon, straw and hay aromas. Sharp with sweet yeast and straw upfront turning to lemon before the lasting clove finish.
