From 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber brown with a creamy white head. Lovely smoked and almost meat-like aroma. Smoked and malty flavoured. Soft creamy malt and smoke finish. Solid but also a one dimensional flavoured smoked.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of smoke and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of smoke and caramel, leading to a dry, bitter, and roasted finish, with the smoke lingering for some time.

Hazy mahogany color; creamy head. Very nice smokey aroma, sweet wood, malt. Some caramel/malt taste, but weak, some smokey touch, but simple at the end.

Bottle. Creamy white good fully lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty moderate hoppy aroma. Grassy notes. Powerfull bitter light sweet flavor. Moderate avaregae bitter finish. Creamy palate. Really nice beer.

Hazy brown color, big off-white head. Aroma of hop, some caramel malt, some smoke, vanilla, oak wood. Sweet caramel malty taste, toffee. Not very smokey though.

Very hazy yellow with an orange tint - frothy, lasting head - very lemony aroma, with touches of wheat and other grains, and very subdued banana and phenolics - quite light and crisp, with prickly carbonation - wheat, yeast and lemon dominate the rather subtle flavor, and the overpowering banana and clove I’ve come to expect from the style is not present at all, which is a very welcome change - light grain through the middle, finishing quite clean and dry, with just the slightest bit of spice lingering - nicely done.

A handful of bottles of this and other veldsteiner beers mysteriously appeared at my local beer store this week - at 2.99 a 50cl swingtop, how could I say no? - clear amber pour, with a frothy, short-lived head, but lasting lace - rather sweet aroma, with notes of butterscotch and roasted nuts, with some floral, herbal hints way in the background - rather clean and light in flavor - some bright fruity esters and a crisp tartness up front, followed by some light bready notes, a touch of caramel, and the faintest hint of smoke - some lingering smoke and some herbal qualities linger in the finish - fairly clean and refreshing - I may have to try the other beers from this brewer that I can get my hands on.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, warm, orangey brown with an off-white head. Distinct, baconish smoke aroma. Medium-bodied with sweetish, roasted malt and caramel - completely overpowered by very distinct smoke notes. The finish is dry. A solid Rauchbier. 290407

Orange-foxy beer, clear, with a medium, collapsing, faint-yellow tinted head. Vanilla & toast initially, greenery and more toast afterwards, even a touch of caramel & arachide. Bit toasted, faint fruity flavours, lemonade-like, giving a lightly sourish impression. Retronasal soft-sweeter with a bit of malts or white bread. Warming up, agian more toast, sweet. Watery texture. Despite little visible carbonation, titillating tonguefeel, CO². That’s going to be the fest! Anybody got a Doppelbock?

Very pale, shiny-metallic yellow, well carbonated to good, creamy, just yellow tinted head. Milky, creamy nose, just a touch grassy, short-lived. Hayish, bit grassy going over in not-quite sweet, dry grainy malts. Dry cookies. Very spritzy, spring water-texture, lively, but palate is not great tastewise. Faint metallic-not-quite-bitterish aftertaste. Rather ordinary lager. Used to better from this brewery.
