Description
The brewery (location) is closed, beer is being brewed in Alabama @ Oyster City Brewing.
It all began with a Christmas gift in 1994. Billy Pyatt, a notoriously hard guy to buy presents for, fell in love with the carboys, pots, hydrometers, grains, hops, chemistry, and physics involved in brewing. His brother, Scott, fell right in with him. Their love became an obsession that could only be resolved by going pro – not an easy thing to do in 1999!
We have tasting Rooms in Asheville, Morganton and Charlotte NC. Our kegs & cans are distributed in TN, NC, SC, GA and AL.

Lemon and ginger aroma reminds me of Thai food. Taste is tart lemon and ginger with a dry finish. Ginger aftertaste. I expect this would be good with Chinese or Thai food.

Looks and smells like grapefruit juice. Creamy feel and moderately hoppy citrus hop taste.

Refrigerated 12 oz. can poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is ginger, medium/light body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is wheat esters, ginger, and a little lemon.

Drinkable, but on the mild side for an NEIPA, with modest hints of grapefruit, lime zest, passion fruit, mint, and grain. Finishes with a slight mineral bitterness. Not bad, but not very memorable.

Can Clear gold with a white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma with a bit of pine resin. The flavor is bitter and a bit resiny. Some woody dryness in the finish.

Month old can A: Dull, dirty yellow gold with 1/2 of foam. S: Underripe citrus and honeysuckle. T: Very tart and fairly bitter. Citrus zest and pulp. Faint honey and seltzer to finish. M: Light and well carbonated. Dry finish. O: Nowhere on the can does the word Brut appear. If it had I would have left this shit on the shelf. I've had some very nice Catawba beers lately but this is subpar in every way.
