33 cl. bottle sampled @ ’t Antwaerps Bierhuyske. Love the label & esp. the kitschy glass. Pretty hazy orange, almost faintly hefe looking brew with a big, very creamy white head. Very milky nose, sweet milk with sugar, I think that the milky quality is from the yeast, very sweet white bread with some esters. Taste carries same strange milky quality mixed with white sugar, touch cheap honey, lots of sweet white bread, hay, thick, not entirely my thing, finish carries some light hops & floral bitterness. Thick milky structure, objectively not bad or anything but I didn’t find these flavours to be all that much to my personal liking. It is not bad but it is a bit strange in a less good way for me.

33cl Bottle: obtained from De Bierboom some time ago. Poured into Duvel glass (sadly I don’t have the horn it should be drank out of) on 5th Dec 13 during a Belgian beer tasting evening I had a home with myself. Amber with a mini haze because some of the sediment got out the bottle: on top an off-white crown. Subtle notes of yeast, sweet malts and citrus hints vied for attention in the nose. These features carried on into the taste with a more floral and fruity (none-citrus) feel overall. Add a sprinkling of pepper and some caramel into the brew kettle and you’ve got the flavours I did. The beer had a strong alcohol kick from the start with the flavours just about coping.

(Bottle, Poechenellekelder, Brussels, 26 Oct 2013) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with tropical fruit, bread, spicy hops and hints of yeast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit, grainy malt, candy sugar, yeast and a generous spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite warming. Nice one.

How: Bottle.
Where: Bierbrasserie Cambrinus, Brugge.
Appearance: Hazy golden colour with a large white head.
Aroma: Fruit, malt, yeast.
Body: Medium body, ok carbonation.
Flavour: Sweet sugar, fruit, alcohol.
Comment: Served in a glass horn. Feels a bit gimmicky (that’s a reason I bought it), but not a bad beer.
