On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy very dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is quite nutty, with some toasted nuts, mild dark fruits, and some wheat. Flavour is quite sour, something undetectable on the nose, with sour fruits, toasted nuts, some dried dark fruits and some bready notes. I wonder if this is how it's supposed to be with the sourness. Seems off the mark to me, but it's drinkable in small doses.

Bottle at National beer hall, Calgary. It pours golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is juicy citrus, tangerine, orange, light marmalade and light pine. The taste is juicy citrus, peach, apricot, tangerine, light mango, light acidity and pine, with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and pretty damn delicious.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and some light lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with light traces of honey is very nice with light notes of candy. Taste is a magnificent work around pale malt with some nice sweet undertones of honey which are very well balanced. I couldn’t really detect any hops which might have disappeared with aging. Light cookie dough notes can also be detected. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. It seems like I am going against the grain on this one but I thought the brewer did a magnificent job on the malt backbone which is something that people seems to forget in our hoppy days.

Courtesy of dcschiller. It pours mahogany with a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malt balls, spicy wood, like notes, flower pedals and roasted malts. The taste has spicy notes from hops like pine and then sort of a cedar wood sensation followed by dark roasted malts and a bit of coffee and chocolate. It has pleasing levels of both roasted malts and hops. Pretty bold in flavor yet pretty thin in palate with the various notes being on the bright side. I would think a year in the cellar will smooth and meld these flavors into harmony.

Sweet grapefruit and citrus rinds. It's pretty much all about the fresh bitter-sweet fruit and the roasted flavor is minimal

Bottle (Thanks Kyle): Poured a deep black color stout with a nice light brown color head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of whisky is quite dominant with light sweet ester. Taste is a well balanced mix between some creamy whisky notes with light roasted malt. Body is fuller then average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well balanced with loads of whisky notes thought no burning alcohol and balanced out by a solid malt backbone.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of oak and whiskey is more dominant then I had anticipated with some spicy rye notes also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by whiskey notes with light alcohol notes discernable with spicy rye notes and some oak notes are also noticeable. Body is quite full with good carbonation and some alcohol was apparent. Interesting but in the end there was too much oak and whiskey notes for my own taste.
