Description
Cider done right. That means delicious West Country cider made from fresh apple juice, using the best locally-sourced apples. Founded in 2002, we are independent, family-owned and very proud to be based in the oldest working cider mill in the UK, breathing life back into the old building. Our home in the heart of Devon is the perfect micro-climate to grow cider apples and we are blessed with some of the finest bittersweet apple orchards in the world. We press and ferment whole juice from the finest locally sourced fruit, never from concentrate. No artificial flavours or aromas, simply the best natural ingredients, and then let it age to perfection. No shortcuts. The result? Delicious, beautifully balanced and naturally refreshing cider.

Box @ Boot Inn, Burnley. Golden coloured cider. Has plenty apple in its nose, with a good hit of apple in its initial taste, followed by a long dry finish.

Tap at Pigalle. Hazy gold with a small head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aromas of soft apple, pear and light funk. Taste is quite similar with a light bit of yogurt. Nice medium to heavy body with soft carbonation. Good apple on the finish with some light peach and yogurt. Very nice.

Draft at Churchkey. Clear yellow color, still - see pic. Aroma has apple, pear, very light vanilla. Taste has fruit and light tannins, fairly dry finish, but not overly dry. A bit more complexity than most ciders.

Keg @ Dukes, Sidmouth. Clear gold with a carbonation. Easy-drinking cider with a dryness and decent initial apple flavour. This gets a little lost with its dry aftertaste but its fruitiness in its nose is constant. Also had the bottle version and found this much sweeter with its apple.

Tap at De Paas. Clear golden with some little bubbles. Light dry fresh apple juice, musty apple skins, light wood and grass. Then some dry white wine, almost champagne like, with dusty cellar. Light sweet and quite dry finish with soft lingering bitter apple skin and a tart touch. Light bodied with light fizzy carbonation. Decent.
