Description

Bottle. Deep cloudy golden, huge golden cream. Peach, light cream cheese, medium body, chewy sweetness, apricot jam, dry spices and minerals, Tealike finish. Should be a relatively fresh bottle but tastes older than expected.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy dark straw with stable white head. Clear aroma of grain, with touches of malt and yeast and wooden hints. Ditto flavour, with some sourish notes. Estery and sourish aftertaste. Drinkable but rather watery and not the best Low Alc Weissbier I have had.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy very dark copper brown with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt amd caramel, with notes of yeast and roasty touches. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast, with bitter notes if nuts and roast and hoppy touches. Estery aftertaste with touches of caramel malt. Not bad, just a little watery.

Bottle at Spital Garten. Bit lemony hop nose, minerals, zest, simcoe is coming through big. Almost clear pale gold, effervescent, with a huge, airy head. Very clean, light malt in the nose. Lemony and orange hop flavor, sorbet, minerals, light grainy crackers. Grassy. Almosy IPL. Fun stuff.

Bottle from Birretta. Rich, malty, caramel and toffee nose with lots of cara-Munich, plus nice citrus and resiny hops. fresh and aromatic in an mixture of US old school and German craft kind of way. Lightly hazy amber orange with a low, thick head. Flavor is piny and resiny hops, caramel malt, sweet, orange and lemon, with a bitter, resiny finish. Is it well made? Yes, very much so, and fresh. But then again it's a GERman IPA wherein the malt shine but it would have been considered great in the US about 20 years ago. It's a nice beer, and the malt is of course richer and tastier than those 1990s US IPAs, but I'm wondering where this will really take us?

Bottle from Birretta in REgensburg. Slightly hazy orange-amber with a low lacy head. Nose is spicy rye, toasty, nutty Vienna malts, bready. Rich and malty, bready, toast, light caramel. Not a weizen yeast, but more like a lager. Not very sweet. Full body. Spicy, prickly finish. Nice.

Clear yellow gold. Clean lager aroma, light sweetness. Lots of caramel but not overly sweet; nicely hopped, spicy/herbal overtones.

0.33 bottle. Huge sea foam head. Hazy Amber, pineapple and tropical fruit. Faint coconut flavor and moderate astringent bitterness. A tad bitter for my taste as a pale ale, but a good showcase for Bavarian fruity hops.
