A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, pleasant light spices, with orange peels, ginger and lemony notes. In mouth, a good spiced ale with loads of ginger and cardamom, oily mouthfeel, quite nice. On tap at brewpub, July 1 2010.

From cask. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is acidic to citric. Dry hoppy, light yeasty and flat malty flavoured. Dry and bitter into a mild herbal hops finish. Bone dry finish. Rather messy.

Draught at the brewpub. Big American hop aroma. Rich malt with caramel and a bit of chocolate. Nicely bitter flavor, well-balanced and earthy with some citrus and maybe pine. A bit heavy, but reliable stuff.

Draught at the brewpub. This was listed as 14%. Orange-copper color with no head or bubbles. Sweet, oxidized huge honey and caramel aroma with port and grape notes like a sweet Sauternes. Big alcohol. Syrupy and sour flavor with big grapes and honey, burning alcohol and oak. Doesn’t really do it for me.

Draught at the brewpub as The Colonel Barrel-Aged Wild Porter. Black. Huge bretty, aged aroma like a Rodenbach. Caramel and cherry. Sweet-sour-burnt flavor with a big, bretty, sour edge and slight coffee roasting. Some sweet fruit as well, with a hugely bitterfinish. Wacky--interesting, original, and fun.

Draught at the brewpub. Pretty amber with a red glow. Big Sorachi Ace nose with citrus, oak. Very hoppy flavor, amber malt, caramel, earth, oak. Complex and very bitter, maybe too much. Interesting, original flavor.

Draught at the brewpub. Very spicy, though natural, with a nice citric edge, though from esters, not American hops. Rich banana, great balance. Some hops in there as well. Big spice. Great stuff with excellent balance. Tingly, slightly bitter, peppery finish.

Tap @ Boston/NY 2009. Quite typical american pale ale. Nothing special, but decent bitter taste. Decent hoppy nose. Straightforward, but very drinkable.

Very interesting and unique beer. Deep amber-brown color with taupe head dispersed across the top. Crisp and nice oad flavor that is well balanced. Full malt flavor with some sour tone on the finish.
