not bad, a little weak, perhaps watered down by the bar, but not as strong a flavor as i was hoping for, good session beer. color of amber caramel, pretty clear, aroma like a pale ale. taste is weak grapefruit with the bitter rye in the aftertaste. nice beer, a little more complexity would make it a really interesting beer.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a black color with a trace beige head. The aroma was dryish and roasty with a touch of coffee. The flavor was dry, smoky and bitter with light floral hops and a touch of coffee and vanilla. The finish was long, dry, bitter and roasty. Fairly full bodied. Ok.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear ambr, small head. Sweet and viscous. Full bodied with dense syrupy mouthfeel, lots of chewy malt simmering in cognac. Deep, buttery malt flavours, brandy-like and warming, Thomas Hardy-style barley wine. Low hop presenence and bitterness, malt and alcohol comes to dominate.

Bottle. Pours an opaque, amber-ruby with a fluffy, beige head. Light aroma of sweet malts, caramel, and brown sugar. Flavor is a tad metallic, but also holds some warm brown sugar. A touch of bitterness - you would probably notice if the hops weren’t there, but as is this is mostly a malt show. Semi-sweet and syrupy in the finish. Medium-light in body, well carbonated. The character shines a bit more as the beer warms. Decent overall.

Tap at CCB Cask for a Cause. Amber, white head. Aroma of pumpernickel bread and carroway seeds. Malty taste, hints of bread. Nice character. Tasty.

Pours an orange gold color with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is almost entirely of blueberries, with a thin beery, wheat undertone. Taste of blueberry coupled with its sour side. Some wheat. A little crispy. Kind of tastes like candy... not the really artificial kind though.

Pours copper body with a beige head. Caramel malt aroma with some notes of yeast. Slightly sour taste, apart from which all you get in this is malts. Minimal bitterness. Some dry notes. Not a bad mouthfeel. Overall not a bad session beer if not overly complicated and special. What kind of specialty grain is it? Is it even? Can’t tell.

Draft @ CCB. Pours golden, white head. Aroma and flavors, enjoyed the aroma a lot, nice thick rye, bready caramel malt nose. Palate is similar, decent bready and malty mouthfeel, some bitter hops with citrus/grapefruit note. Rich malty and rye finish. Tasty.

Pours a copper with small white fizzy head. Not getting a lot on the nose. tastes a little caramel and bread. Slightly syrupy but easy drinking enough, not enough flavor to buy again, but i do have a six pack finish.

22oz bomber. Deep orange-tan color, with a huge off-white head. Big chewy Rye malt body. Sticky, sandy, dry tones. Gingerbread and a deep graininess. The hops don’t really add that much depth , just reinforcing a steady bitterness. Some doughy malt tones somewhere in the haze of rye/hop bitterness. An interesting beer, but a little harsh on the palate. A pretty bold Rye beer.
